Re: Kirkwood got his feelings hurt and quit
Very good post and explanation. Obviously qualities I don't have. All my recent posts have been read by many but so far ignored by all, except the one from Kate. Care is needed to explain a situation perfectly, and as with emails and texts as well, you don't always get the true interpretation. I can...

Re: Game Frozen
It's true. You only get what you pay for !! We pay peanuts for this game and can't expect it to be flawless. Just the opposite - full of flaws. I have faced similar play or quit remarks, even whilst in front. I have played in games recently where Scott the Bot has turned up to replace someone who ha...

Re: Kirkwood left early.......
Well this isn't getting any better, just going from bad to worse. I have often wondered why people play with known quitters etc. But people do, despite all the posts in the forum making you aware and advising you to proceed with caution. My reason for replying is that I did play with Kirky last week...

This is just a short response to original post. I'll respond to Sunny's in due course. There's absolutely nothing sinister in this question, but like the texasranger, bskopit you have a name for the forum and obviously a different one in the lobby. All 4 of us inc me and Sunny have been on here sinc...

Re: Screen size
Sorry. I can't help you with this.
I see you have been playing for nearly 5 years, so I guess I must of played you at some time. Obviously not texasgolfer in lobby, so what's your playing name ? Nothing sinister, just inquisitive, that's all.

I totally agree with Dean and Ice. One of the few people, on this site, you feel comfortable with and guaranteed a good, friendly and fair game. If you wanted to define " spirit of the game ", then sportsmanship and reasonable manners would fit in somewhere. However many only play to win at all cost...

His Aidan,
Thanks Aidan. Really pleased that you intend to get involved with the scoring system, and that recent posts will be taken into consideration. Not sure what's meant by C++ to C hashtag. Hope it relates to C ribbage !
Best regards. Billy

Re: Illumination - I hope..........
I agree with Russ and would hope that it creates more participants. Statistics can sometimes be interesting when analysed as Ice proved in original post. There are 59 topics on the forum since 2009. With 7 replies, this one ranks tie 3rd. Unfortunately the replies are only shared by us 3. Of those 5...

Re: Illumination - I hope..........
I probably mislead you with my mentioning of Hearts. I do believe the scoring and weighting system is correct there. My purpose of mentioning hearts in the same breath as cribbage was entirely to highlight player selection. In Hearts, with 3 top rated players looking for a 4th, they wouldn't very of...

Re: Illumination - I hope..........
50 active players and 12 reads so far, with no replies, thus far. Hard to know what to say, that we don't already know. The analysis is very detailed and informative. Some of the top players are sympathetic to the cause. One or two, not so. This cannot, in my opinion, be resolved without Aidan's int...

Re: Alvaro latest quitter
I find this all very confusing. Recently I have been in games where connection has been lost and screen freezes. In fact I was in a game with Biri, just 2 days ago. I was facing Liz who was lit up the same way as Ice is here, waiting for her to play. When she didn't, I tried to chat and nothing happ...

Re: Kirkwood
Well I agree with you 110% !! Always whining and always quick to blame others for his own mistakes. I was in a game with him and Bulldog and one other. I passed Bulldog 10 of hearts. I was on 95. Bulldog was well on the way to a moon, having taken the Q and lead his 10 of hearts. I was reluctant to ...

Re: What makes a good game? [TUTORIAL and HINTS] (The End)
You're behaviour wasn't unfair, just surprising. Not so disappointed, as it only put me in with a chance, probably wouldn't have won anyway. Apology accepted. I hope of the 2 reasons, it was an accident and not an act of revenge. It becomes extremely advantageous to the leading 2 when the 2 highest ...

Re: What makes a good game? [TUTORIAL and HINTS] (The End)
Hi Marek, I wouldn't normally comment on individual games however a recent game with your good self , Ice & JDFAL gives me an opportunity to do so. As a nice person, myself, I ask your advice. I'm counting on it. The best time to take a gamble is very early on in games. In this instance I passed JD ...

Re: New to All This
I've possibly missed something here. But who is Shimmy ? Can't find the name on leaderboard. And who's JohnCDA from an earlier post. He doesn't seem to appear on leaderboard either. Having played for best part of 4 years now, I would have expected to see their names in the lobby at some point. Does ...

Re: continual quitter
Well, as they say from my part of the world "it takes one to know one " I guess you're not a habitual quitter, but you've admitted that you quit on me twice before and I won't give you the chance to repeat. I do however agree with you about Marco, he is a quitter as I've found out for myself, by ign...

This has happened to me twice with Calbears. Best to just not play him/her as he/she is unlikely to change.
From my own experience this hasn't happened to me with Brunello.

Re: New to All This
Marek, Thank you for your remarks re my card playing ability. I have to confess that I've often felt you thought differently towards me, although you have always invited me or accepted my invite. It goes to show that putting words down in chat, as in texts and emails, can often be interpreted differ...

Well, I've been away for 7 days and will be for another 3. Despite having the opportunity to play, I have chosen not too.Still not too sure about IP addresses. Does mine change when I'm not at home ? Also reception and wifi fluctuates and could be unreliable during game and it's simply not worth the...

Re: Quitting when losing
I haven't played Dean in a while, but from previous experiences, I would never, ever have him down as a quitter. I feel exactly the same about Tim, who I have played many times. Have only played Marco a few times, but he has never quit in any of those games. Probably wel over 100 games against them ...
