scoring

Hi Aidan, i noticed that the method of points calculation was changed.
2 points lost for 2nd, 3rd and 4th----always
12 points won for 1st.....always
In fact, about 50 players are over 1600 points, never happened.
Is this a right method or there is something wrong in your program?
Thank you for your answer

I have noticed the same thing! Asking other players and they just would say it is because people are winning. Scores/rankings have gotten outrageous high!

Yes I totally agree. However its the same for all of us. As I see it, and using my stats as an example you'll see that my win ration is around 25%. The majority of the players are around that figure too. At the moment that means 1 win (12 points) and 3 losses( 2 points each) which would increase my overall score by 6 points. So just play more and you go up the board. It should encourage more people to play and less people to quit. Who's bothered about losing 2 points ? It does seem an advantage to newcomers as they can reach 1600 in a dozen games, whereas it's taken me 2 years to reach that level. Come end of next month we'll have players hitting 2000. I'm not looking to change anything here, Aidan, just saying it as I see it.

Yes some have gone over the 2000 by now, but not by much.
You can play around with the ratings calculation system here.
If you notice some problems with the calculations let us know.
