Aidan I think there may be a problem with the distribution of cards in Hearts. I've been in many games now where one player is way ahead of everyone else - it has also happened to me on a number of occasions. Consistently getting hands where no cards are under 6 or 7. The converse is also true - when its going well lots of low cards and you simply can't lose.

I was reading a thread the other day about players dumping on the high man which I believe may be the same problem but described in a different way - i.e. not dumping but the unfortunate player consistently having the suit high card and getting the lot!

I've spoken with some of the others and they agree thats it happening - does it need a tweak?

Cards are dealt completely random as in real life (or even more than in real life) - nothing is fixed up in any way.

I had people complaining about this in Cribbage, even seen it happen myself quite a bit, but its just the luck of the deal nothing more.
