Help - Advanced Techniques
|by Matthew Totaro [ 24 September 2002 - 4:41 pm ]|
Thank you for this addicting and completely enjoyable game!! I play over an hour each day after I come home from work.
I have a question on advanced spins. I've progressed to the point where I can defeat Paulo Da Silva and Milan Erceg, but; however I cannot deal with the spin placed on the ball my Liu Zhongkang for instance. What advanced techniques are there to both return the ball effectively and also to generate the type of spin displayed by the advanced experts on the game.
Thank you again for the wonderfully done game!!!

Thanks for the compliments :-)
Anyway if you have got the hang of the spin process and can add side spin combined with top or back spin, and all this combined with direction / power, then you can do all that is possible in the game. The computer players can do nothing that you can't - they add power and spin to the ball in the same manner and with the same limits as you can. - this was done on purpose as there's nothing more annoying to me than seeing a computer opponent pulling off some shots that you are not able to do -
So the advanced players just use different combinations of spins and power/direction and no more.
As for how to beat them, its possible - some people have complained that the computer players are too easy - but I guess the best advice is practice ?
Admittedly there's a bit to big of a difficulty gap after Milan Erceg - something I'll have to fix up for future versions.
