Shot control

When I'm in anything other than Beginner 1, I can't control the direction of my shot (no arrows). I can only hit the ball straight back. What what am I doing wrong?????

Have a look at the tutorials in the game. You need to press a mouse button before you move the mouse, before the ball hits your bat.
