Highlighted Names?

At the lobby most of the names are highlighted with the exception of a few two or three names. What does that mean?

Just found out that the non-highlighted names haven't verified their accounts yet. What does that mean?

It means they have not verified their email addresses yet, which is just an identity confirmation, nothing more.
